Malaysian Foreign Minister visits Vietnam

At the invitation of Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son, Malaysian Foreign Minister Zambry Abdul Kadir will pay an official visit to Vietnam and co-chair the 7th Meeting of the Vietnam-Malaysia Joint Committee on Economic , Scientific and Technical Cooperation from July 19-20, 2023.

In 2023, Vietnam and Malaysia celebrate the 50th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations (March 30, 1973 - March 30, 2023).

Over the past 50 years, Vietnam-Malaysia relations have been continuously strengthened and developed. The relationship between the two countries has always developed well, especially after the two countries upgraded their relationship to a strategic partnership in 2015.

Malaysia is one of Vietnam's 10 largest trading partners. Bilateral trade turnover has increased steadily over the years, reaching nearly 14.8 billion USD in 2022 (Vietnam exported 5.57 billion USD to Malaysia and imported 9.1 billion USD).

Vietnam and Malaysia both attach great importance to further strengthening trade cooperation towards balanced and sustainable development, striving to achieve the goal of bringing bilateral trade turnover to 18 billion USD by 2025.
