Digital Technology - The Key to Solving Global Problems

Minister Nguyen Manh Hung affirmed that Vietnam needs to proactively participate in solving global issues such as population aging, climate change and narrowing the gap between rich and poor. The Minister emphasized that digital technology is the key solution to solving these problems. The Ministry of Information and Communications has signed many ministerial-level digital cooperation agreements and is aiming to raise cooperation to the national level, replacing the usual memorandums of understanding.

The Minister said that to avoid the risk of becoming a product transit point, Vietnam needs to link attracting foreign direct investment (FDI) with high-tech transfer and developing domestic supply chains.

"Digital diplomacy" and the role of technology talent

Deputy Minister Do Hung Viet emphasized that "digital diplomacy" is not only an important content but also the responsibility of heads of representative agencies. He recommended that Vietnamese enterprises actively participate in shaping international laws on digital technology, artificial intelligence and digital transformation to ensure national interests.
