Coast Guard Region 4 Command launches Squadron 42

In order to meet the requirements of the new phase of missions in the Southwest sea, on May 30, the Command of Coast Guard Region 4 held a conference to announce the decision to launch Squadron 42 in Hang Vinh commune, Nam Can district ( Ca Mau ).

Speaking at the ceremony, Lieutenant General Hoang Van Dong emphasized that the Coast Guard needs to build an increasingly strong, disciplined, modern force, acting as the core in performing the task of protecting national sovereignty , sovereign rights, and jurisdiction at sea by legal measures; managing and protecting national security and ensuring order, safety, protecting the environment, and participating in overcoming natural disasters in Vietnam's sea areas...

Lieutenant General Hoang Van Dong commented that in the coming time, the situation at sea is forecast to still have many unpredictable factors. If the countries bordering the East Sea do not control the situation well, it could lead to local armed conflicts, seriously affecting peace, stability, freedom of navigation and aviation in the region and the world ... In addition, the number of Vietnamese fishing vessels violating foreign waters has not shown any signs of decreasing...

The announcement of the decision and the launch of Squadron 42 is an important event, contributing to the overall task of firmly protecting the sovereignty and security of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.
