Ministry of Construction agrees with proposal on investment in National Highway 19C through Phu Yen

Voters of Dong Xuan district reflected: Currently, the socio-economic situation of the province, as well as neighboring localities, is developing rapidly, the demand for transportation is increasing, the number of vehicles on National Highway 19C through La Hai town is increasing, while the section through the town is too narrow, with an average width of 5-7m, no sidewalks, and a dense population along the road, so the risk of traffic accidents is very high. Voters and local authorities have made many requests but have not received any attention. Voters continue to request the Ministry of Construction to soon invest in this road.

* Ministry of Construction replied:

According to the road network planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, National Highway 19C through Phu Yen is 112km long, level III-IV scale, 2-4 lanes. The current status is level IV scale (roadbed width 7m, road surface width 3.5m); the bypass section through La Hai town is 3.2km long (Km58-Km61) previously part of the Phu Yen Western Traffic Axis Project, due to difficulties in funding, the above section has not been fully invested. Now the Ministry of Construction agrees with the proposal that investing in National Highway 19C through Phu Yen, especially the section through La Hai town according to the planning scale is necessary.

However, due to resource constraints, the Ministry has not been able to allocate capital to invest in National Highway 19C through Phu Yen and the La Hai bypass in the 2021-2025 period. The Ministry has noted the voters' recommendations and will coordinate with the Phu Yen Provincial People's Committee to report to competent authorities for consideration and investment in the 2026-2030 period.
