
Since the beginning of 2023, Hai Thanh NS Joint Stock Company (Ia Sik village, Ia Nhin commune, Chu Pah district) has been consulted and evaluated by the Provincial Center for Application of Science and Technology Advances on the process of growing melons according to VietGAP standards. Mr. Hoang Dinh Luong - Director of the Company - said: In 2022, we will implement a model of growing melons in greenhouses with an area of 2.5 hectares. To affirm the quality, gain trust from customers and gradually gain a foothold in the market, the Company has built VietGAP certification.
Accordingly, the Provincial Center for Application of Science and Technology Advances has organized consulting to evaluate the conversion process, evaluate organic certification and evaluate the supervision of the Company on the production process towards organic agriculture . At the same time, organized training for the technical team to apply agricultural production processes according to VietGAP standards.
“Applying the production process according to VietGAP standards helps melons grow and develop sustainably. This production process is basically well adapted to climate change and minimizes the impact on the environment by limiting the use of pesticides, saving irrigation water and maintaining biodiversity. In 2023, after being certified by VietGAP, we are confident in targeting our products to consumers and have the orientation to develop the melon brand to a number of provinces and cities across the country,” informed the Director of Hai Thanh NS Joint Stock Company.

Mr. Le Hung Huan's family (An Dien village, Ia Blang commune) is one of the pioneers in growing pepper according to VietGAP standards in Chu Se district with an area of over 8 hectares. He said: "Production according to VietGAP standards helps save investment costs; management is more effective. Products certified by VietGAP help producers to consume more conveniently, and consumers also feel secure when using the products. In addition to 8 hectares of pepper, my family is currently applying production according to VietGAP standards for 10 hectares of other crops such as rubber, durian, and grapefruit."
In order to increase the value of crops and build a brand, many Jrai households in Phung village (Ia Mo Nong commune, Chu Pah district) have joined together to build a Cooperative Group to grow durian according to VietGAP standards. In September 2023, the Cooperative Group was established, becoming a "common home" for farmers to learn, share experiences, and support each other in growing and caring for durian.
Mr. Ro Cham Tuy (Phung village) excitedly shared: Thanks to applying the VietGAP process, my family's 2-hectare durian garden has grown and developed well, and will soon yield the first harvest. 14 gardeners in the Cooperative have increased the use of organic microbial fertilizers and biological pesticides to fertilize the garden to contribute to soil improvement, increase productivity, quality, and create safe fresh fruit quality. Currently, the village's Cooperative has cultivated more than 25 hectares of durian trees according to VietGAP standards.

Ms. Vo Thi Thuy Ngan - Deputy Director of the Provincial Center for Application of Science and Technology Advances - said: In 2020, the Center was granted a certificate of registration for certification activities for the agricultural sector in the field of crop products produced and processed in accordance with national standards TCVN 11892-1:2017.
“As of December 2024, the Center has implemented VietGAP certification assessment activities for 20 units, granting 40 certificates with an assessment area of nearly 500 hectares in Gia Lai, Kon Tum, and Binh Phuoc provinces. From the beginning of 2025 to now, the Center has implemented certification assessment for nearly 155 hectares of agricultural cultivation area in the whole province. At the same time, coordinating with units and localities to organize training courses on agricultural production according to the VietGAP model, helping people raise awareness of clean agricultural practices" - Deputy Director of the Provincial Center for Application of Science and Technology Advances informed.
According to Ms. Ngan, in the coming time, the Provincial Center for Application of Science and Technology Advances will continue to promote and raise awareness among people and organizations about building production models according to VietGAP standards; increase human resources to promptly meet VietGAP certification in the agricultural sector to increase product value; coordinate with cooperatives and farmers to develop production models applying high technology, clean and safe agriculture, ensuring consumer health. In addition, promote consulting activities, assessment and certification of VietGAP for organizations and individuals to increase the value of agricultural products, meeting the requirements of sustainable agricultural development of the province.
