Ministry of Construction inspects Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway route through Hai Duong

On the afternoon of May 16, the working delegation of the Ministry of Construction led by Deputy Minister Nguyen Danh Huy inspected and worked with Hai Duong province on the scale and route of the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong Railway Construction Investment Project.

Comrade Luu Van Ban, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of Hai Duong Provincial People's Committee, and representatives of leaders of relevant departments, branches, units and localities attended the meeting.

At the meeting, after listening to the report on the railway route plan through Hai Duong, Deputy Minister Nguyen Danh Huy and Permanent Vice Chairman of Hai Duong Provincial People's Committee Luu Van Ban discussed and agreed on many important contents.

Standing Vice Chairman of Hai Duong Provincial People's Committee Luu Van Ban proposed planning the road leading to Hai Duong Nam station with a scale of 4 lanes.

Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Luu Van Ban requested the Ministry of Construction and relevant units to study and arrange the railway and expressway corridors appropriately, synchronously, ensuring construction safety, while avoiding waste of land funds. The province highly agrees with the project route plan through the area, in which the section intersecting the railway and the Hanoi - Hai Phong expressway is identified as an elevated railway.

Hai Duong province proposed to plan a 4-lane access road to Hai Duong Nam station to increase connectivity and traffic; at the same time, soon agree on the location of the material mine for construction to ensure supply and project implementation progress.

Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Danh Huy acknowledged Hai Duong's efforts in implementing the project with a determined and rapid spirit.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Danh Huy agreed with the local recommendations. He emphasized the need to establish a Steering Committee to implement the project, determine the number of resettled households, and assign the investor to implement the resettlement project...

Previously, on May 14-15, the Ministry of Construction's working group led by Deputy Minister Nguyen Danh Huy inspected and worked with provinces and cities where the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway route passes through. On May 16, the working group inspected and worked in the provinces of Bac Ninh, Hung Yen, Hai Duong and Hai Phong City.

The Lao Cai – Hanoi – Hai Phong railway construction project through Hai Duong is about 40.96 km long, passing through 5 districts: Cam Giang, Binh Giang, Gia Loc, Tu Ky and Thanh Ha, involving 19 communes. It is expected to build 3 stations: Binh Giang, Hai Duong Nam and Tu Ky.

The total land area to be recovered for construction is about 188 hectares. It is expected that 3,296 households will be affected, of which 407 households will need resettlement. The total cost of compensation, support and site clearance in the province is estimated at about 3,893 billion VND. Currently, the work groups under the responsibility of Hai Duong province are being urgently and actively implemented, meeting the plan.
