Funeral of former President Tran Duc Luong in Quang Ngai

At 2:30 p.m. on May 25, the hearse carried the coffin of former President Tran Duc Luong to the cemetery of Dien Truong village, Pho Khanh commune, Duc Pho town, Quang Ngai province, the hometown of the former President.

Attending the funeral were Politburo member, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man; Politburo member, Party Central Committee Secretary, Head of the Central Propaganda and Education Commission Nguyen Trong Nghia; Politburo member, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh; Party Central Committee member, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan; National Assembly Vice Chairman Nguyen Khac Dinh and family members.

Thousands of people from Quang Ngai province were present at the cemetery to welcome the coffin and send off the former President to his final resting place.

At exactly 3:00 p.m., the funeral organizing committee performed the burial ceremony, and family members and delegates attending the funeral performed the flower-dropping ceremony.

At the end of the funeral of the Politburo member, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh, Head of the National Funeral Organizing Committee, read words of gratitude at the funeral.
