Connecting humanitarian resources

Dong Nai Red Cross is among the top 5 localities in the country with the highest value of humanitarian charity mobilization, at 200 billion VND/year or more. This year, the mobilization of resources for humanitarian charity activities continues to be promoted and the expected results are higher than last year.

According to Mr. Mai Van Nho, Chairman of the Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin in Dong Nai province, since the beginning of the year, the associations at all levels in the province have mobilized resources to care for victims of Agent Orange reaching over 11 billion VND, exceeding the annual plan by 23%. At the same time, the total value of support for victims of Agent Orange reached nearly 16 billion VND, exceeding the annual plan by 88%. This is an impressive result in the mobilization and care of victims of Agent Orange from social resources that the Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin in the province has achieved in recent times.

From this resource, every week and every month, the Red Cross and the Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin organize activities to award scholarships to students who have overcome difficulties, organize medical examinations and give free medicine to people in communes with many difficulties, and support people to build solid houses...

At the same time, the Red Cross and the Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin are maintaining monthly support for nearly 7,000 extremely disadvantaged addresses. Of which, the Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin at all levels is providing monthly support for nearly 1,000 cases. The Provincial Red Cross is providing support for nearly 6,000 extremely disadvantaged addresses. The value that each family receives is from 500,000 VND/month or more.

Mr. Nguyen Minh Tien (Bien Hoa ward) said: He is disabled in both legs due to the effects of Agent Orange. Recently, in addition to the policy regimes, he has received monthly support from the Provincial Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin, helping him create jobs at home.

According to the President of the Association for the Protection of the Disabled, Orphans and Poor Patients of the province, Nguyen Thi Lien, the association is coordinating to maintain the Pain Sharing Program. This is a program that connects the community to those in difficult circumstances, to help them reduce difficulties, have medical treatment costs, build or repair houses or have more resources to develop the economy ... This activity receives the cooperation of all classes of people and the association will continue to be a bridge connecting organizations, businesses, and philanthropists to join hands to care for the disadvantaged, so that no one is left behind.

According to Chairman of the Provincial Blind Association Nguyen Bao Tran, most of the association's members face difficult circumstances in life. In recent times, in addition to coordinating to ensure that blind people in the province have fully enjoyed the State's support policies, the association has also connected with organizations and kind individuals to mobilize social resources to support blind people and their families in vocational training, providing capital to create jobs for themselves, etc. These activities have contributed to making members and their families, especially those in poor and near-poor households, feel the concern of society.

Currently, the Provincial Red Cross Society continues to call for and receive contributions from all walks of life at the unit's headquarters at No. 03, Hoang Minh Chau, Tran Bien Ward, Dong Nai Province; via bank transfer: Dong Nai Provincial Red Cross Society, account number 20251234, VietinBank Binh Phuoc Branch, transfer content: name of unit/individual + "Join hands to overcome floods" 2025.

Sharing with people across the country

Along with supporting the poor and other difficult cases in the locality, in recent years, Dong Nai province has also been a familiar humanitarian address for people across the country when regularly organizing activities to support people in difficulty.

At this time, the Provincial Red Cross is actively mobilizing, receiving and distributing relief goods (food, medicine, clothes, etc.) to people affected by natural disasters in many localities across the country.

According to Chairman of the Dong Nai Red Cross Society Nguyen Tan Hung, right after the storm and flood affected people's lives, the Red Cross Society of the province organized a fundraising campaign to support local people in overcoming the consequences of natural disasters. Through that, the society received about 100 tons of goods and more than 8 billion VND to send to people in the storm and flood areas.

According to Chairman of Dong Nai Province Charity Association Nguyen Phu Cuong, the Provincial Charity Association is supporting 27 cases with gifts worth 300,000 VND/month. At the same time, at least twice a week, members of the Provincial Charity Association organize humanitarian activities to support the community at different levels and scales such as: giving meals to freelance workers and inpatients, giving gifts to people in difficulty... At the same time, the Provincial Charity Association has mobilized and received money and goods donated by hundreds of individuals and groups with a total value of about 1 billion VND.

According to Mr. Nguyen Phu Cuong, on December 6, the reception will be temporarily suspended so that on December 7, the Charity Association can transfer money and goods to support local people. The Provincial Charity Association wishes to contribute a part of its efforts to spread the spirit of mutual love of Dong Nai people to people affected by natural disasters.

Currently, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee has 34 member organizations, including charitable and humanitarian organizations including: Provincial Red Cross Society, Provincial Association for Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin, Provincial Charity Association, Provincial Association for the Blind, Provincial Association for the Support of the Disabled, Orphans and Poor Patients.
