New momentum for science and technology competitions and fairs

In recent years, the Youth and Children's Creativity Contest and the Dong Nai Province Technical Creativity Contest have attracted a large number of students and people from all walks of life to participate. From these two science and technology (KHKT) playgrounds, many solutions have been applied in practice, demonstrating the practical effectiveness of research, innovation and application of science and technology.

In 2026, the Dong Nai Province Union of Science and Technology Associations will continue to host the Youth and Children's Creativity Competition and the Dong Nai Province Technical Creativity Competition. With a larger provincial scale and stronger resources, science and technology competitions will certainly spread strongly, attract more solutions and are expected to create a new driving force for research and application of science and technology.

Creativity from practice

2025 is the 8th year of the Technical Innovation Competition and the 10th year of the Dong Nai Province Youth and Children's Innovation Competition. Over the past 10 years, these competitions have continuously developed in both quantity and quality of the participating solutions. For many consecutive years, Dong Nai Province has been commended by the Organizing Committee of the National Youth and Children's Innovation Competition for its work in organizing the competition.

For the Technical Innovation Competition, many of the province's winning solutions were selected to participate at the national level and were included in the Vietnam Golden Book of Innovation. It is noteworthy that many solutions before the competition were applied in practice, bringing practical results in expertise, production and business at the unit.

Examples include: the solution of applying artificial intelligence (AI) to build a model for early detection of common diseases on cassava plants in the Southeast region by a group of authors from the Hung Loc Agricultural Experimental Research Center. With this application, cassava farmers only need to use their smartphones to take photos and receive diagnostic results of common diseases on cassava (tapioca) plants almost immediately without the need for complex skills. The application is evaluated as a fast, objective diagnosis with high accuracy, eliminating the delay and subjectivity of visual observation, not depending on personal experience. Thanks to that, cassava growers can detect diseases early, intervene promptly, and reduce crop damage.

Or the solution of Coating water-based substances to replace Polyethylene plastic on paper by author Nguyen Anh Cuong from Green EcosyStem Production and Trading Company Limited (in Long Binh ward). This solution helps reduce environmental pollution, limit non-biodegradable waste in the environment, support the circular economy, and help the packaging industry become truly "green" from design to recycling.

In the former Binh Phuoc province, Mr. Doan Quang Trong, Deputy General Director of Binh Long Rubber Company Limited, was considered a "tree of innovation". Mr. Trong had many solutions to participate in technical innovation competitions and won provincial and national awards. These solutions have all been applied in the company's production practices, bringing economic efficiency to the unit. Some solutions include: Determining TSC of latex using a microwave oven; Automatically controlling the daytime and nighttime lighting systems by using a sensor system to save electricity...

According to Mr. Trong, about 70% of the research solutions have been applied in production practice in the unit. Participating in the Technical Innovation Contest helps him and his colleagues have the opportunity to learn more. Winning the prize is a gift of encouragement and motivation for the company's staff to continue participating in scientific and technological research.

According to the comments of the Organizing Committee of the Dong Nai Province Technical Innovation Contest, the contest has spread to a large number of people, in which individuals and private enterprises have invested in very methodical research, with high scientific content and wide applicability. Many topics and initiatives are highly appreciated for their feasibility and have been applied in production and life, contributing to improving labor productivity and work efficiency. Through the application of initiatives, the contest contributes to solving many practical problems, supporting production development, protecting the environment and improving people's lives.

The field groups of the two competitions and competitions on science and technology fully reflect the urgent requirements of reality, at the same time creating conditions for scientists, engineers, intellectuals, businessmen, students and creative enthusiasts to maximize their intelligence, experience and new ideas. This is not only an intellectual playground but also a forum for people of all walks of life, especially the young generation, to promote new ideas, aspirations for innovation and the spirit of dedication to the homeland and country.

New momentum for scientific and technological research and application

Through the organization of competitions and competitions on science and technology, Dong Nai province has clearly affirmed the important role of research, innovation and application of science and technology for socio-economic development. At the same time, this is also a vivid demonstration of the potential, intelligence and abundant creativity of the people in the province.

In 2026, the Provincial Union of Science and Technology Associations (as the Standing Agency of the Organizing Committee of Science and Technology competitions) will continue to coordinate with departments, branches, sectors, unions and localities in the province to organize these two important intellectual playgrounds.

He believes that, with the premises that the Organizing Committee of the Technical Innovation Competition of Dong Nai and Binh Phuoc provinces has previously created, the Dong Nai Innovation Competition in the coming time will certainly develop even more, increasing in scale, quality and research fields.

In order for the 2026 competitions and contests to continue to be successful and spread strongly, Provincial Party Committee member and Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Hoang suggested: Party committees, authorities, agencies and units need to pay more attention to propaganda and implementation of policies and guidelines on science - technology and innovation activities; considering this a task associated with the general development of the province after the merger. Along with that, it is necessary to introduce and replicate effective models and creative solutions, spreading creative labor emulation movements among the people. Educational institutions, units and enterprises actively encourage students, staff, employees and workers to research and propose feasible initiatives and solutions to serve their studies, lives and production and business.
