President Luong Cuong receives Vice President of Laos

Lao Vice President Pany Yathotou thanked President Luong Cuong for taking the time to receive the delegation; respectfully conveyed the deep condolences and infinite sorrow of the Lao Party, State and people to the Party, State and people of Vietnam and the family of former President Tran Duc Luong.

Comrade Pany Yathotou emphasized that the passing of Comrade Tran Duc Luong is a great loss to the Party, State, people of Vietnam and his family; the Lao Party, State and people also lost a great comrade and friend who they were extremely close to.

Lao Vice President Pany Yathotou affirmed that Laos always remembers and appreciates the sentiments and great contributions of former President Tran Duc Luong in cultivating, consolidating and enhancing the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.

Comrade Pany Yathotou congratulated and highly appreciated the great and comprehensive achievements that the Party, State and people of Vietnam have achieved in recent times, and the increasingly enhanced position and role of Vietnam in the international arena; at the same time, expressed deep gratitude for Vietnam's wholehearted, sincere, effective and timely support for Laos up to now; agreed with President Luong Cuong's discussions on a number of important contents in the Vietnam - Laos cooperation relationship.

The Lao Vice President emphasized that the Lao Party, State and people will do their utmost together with the Party, State and people of Vietnam to foster, preserve and consolidate the special solidarity relationship between Vietnam and Laos, and are determined to successfully implement the Resolutions of each Party and successfully organize the 12th and 14th National Congresses of each Party.

President Luong Cuong sincerely thanked the Central Executive Committee, the National Assembly , the Government and the Lao Front for National Construction for sending condolences on the passing of President Tran Duc Luong and especially for sending a delegation led by Vice President Pany Yathotou to pay their respects, demonstrating the deep affection, close attachment, and rare loyalty between the two Parties, two countries and peoples of Vietnam and Laos.

President Luong Cuong affirmed that in more than 50 years of revolutionary activities, former President Tran Duc Luong was a shining example of learning, leaving many profound impressions and making great contributions to the cause of national construction and development. In any position, former President Tran Duc Luong always demonstrated steadfast political will, constantly making every effort for the people, for the interests of the nation and people.

President Luong Cuong emphasized that during his lifetime, comrade Tran Duc Luong always paid special attention to the Lao revolution and made many great contributions to building, consolidating and enhancing the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos and Laos and Vietnam.

The President congratulated the great and comprehensive achievements that the Lao Party, State and people have achieved in all fields, the people's lives have been constantly improved, foreign relations have been expanded, and the position and role of Laos have been increasingly enhanced in the region and the international arena; he expressed his belief that under the close guidance of the Party Central Committee, the National Assembly, the efforts of the Government, local authorities and the whole society, Laos will continue to achieve even greater new victories, successfully organizing the 12th Party Congress.

President Luong Cuong highly appreciated the Vietnam - Laos relationship which has been increasingly consolidated and promoted in recent times and achieved many important results; at the same time, he affirmed that the Vietnam - Laos relationship is a great friendship, special solidarity, rare in the world and this good relationship has been repeatedly affirmed by both sides as a precious, priceless asset that future generations need to preserve and promote.

The President emphasized several key contents in implementing the Vietnam-Laos cooperation relationship in the coming time, including the effective implementation of high-level agreements between the two Parties and countries, as well as the results of the visits of the two countries' senior leaders; believing that with solidarity, unity and high determination, the two countries will achieve many new and greater achievements.
