From this meaningful movement, many typical examples have emerged, contributing to affirming the role and position of women in the new era. Among them, Ms. Nguyen Thi My Le, Vice President of the Women's Union of Hoa Trung Commune - is an exemplary Union official. Not only is she dedicated to the work of the Union, but she is also active and creative in developing the family economy .
During the breeding process, she pays special attention to measures to ensure biosafety, environmental hygiene and food safety.
Ms. Nguyen Thi My Le currently lives in La Vuong hamlet, Hoa Trung commune, Dong Hy district. In recent years, she has been known as a pioneer in building a model of raising French pigeons in a safe, effective and sustainable manner. Her model not only contributes to increasing family income but also opens up an economic development direction suitable to the actual conditions of rural women.
Grasping market demand and learning from the experience of relatives who are developing a pigeon farming model in Bac Giang province, in 2020, Ms. Nguyen Thi My Le boldly invested in developing an industrial French pigeon farming model. With a total initial investment of 300 million VND, she and her family built a barn on an area of 200m² and imported 400 pairs of breeding birds.
After more than 2 years of implementation, the model has shown clear results. In 2022, she decided to expand the breeding scale to 1,400 pairs of breeding birds. Up to now, her family is maintaining a total flock of 1,500 breeding pairs, with stable output, selling price from 130,000 - 140,000 VND/pair, giving an average annual income of 300 - 350 million VND after deducting expenses.
Not only focusing on developing the household economy, Ms. Nguyen Thi My Le also actively shares experiences and supports local women's association members to develop together. She has been advocating and orienting the establishment of a French pigeon breeding association in La Vuong hamlet, striving to build at least 5 more breeding models, creating jobs for about 8 members in difficult circumstances.
With a spirit of creativity, responsibility and aspiration to rise, in 2020, the idea of “Solutions to increase income for female members through the French pigeon farming model” by Ms. Nguyen Thi My Le won the Encouragement Prize at the “Women's Entrepreneurship Day” contest organized by the Thai Nguyen Provincial Women's Union. This is a worthy recognition for her continuous efforts in her entrepreneurial journey and dedication to the development of local women.
