Exhibition on Ho Chi Minh and Han Nom heritage in Gia Lai

(GLO)- On the morning of May 16, Gia Lai Provincial Museum opened two thematic exhibitions: "Revolutionary Path - Comrade Ho Chi Minh in China" and "Han Nom Heritage in Gia Lai Province".

Attending the opening ceremony were Ms. Do Thi Thu Hang - Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh Museum ( Hanoi ); representatives of leaders of departments, branches, localities; Management Board of some communal houses and temples in An Khe town and many students in Pleiku city.

The exhibition “Revolutionary Path - Comrade Ho Chi Minh in China” took place from May 16 to June 10, introducing more than 250 precious images, documents, and quotes, arranged into 4 parts: Building a revolutionary organization from scratch; Hundred favors - Sharing the same hatred, uniting against foreign invaders; Thousand favors - Helping each other and close relationships; Spirit of friendship, eternal glory.

The exhibition vividly recreates President Ho Chi Minh's revolutionary activities in China, his great contributions to the cause of national liberation and in building Vietnam-China friendship.

The exhibition “Han Nom Heritage in Gia Lai Province” introduces to the public 435 documents, artifacts and typical images. The display includes all the decrees of conferment of titles on deities at village communal houses, decrees and decrees on individuals, most of the ancient land registers still kept in private homes, along with hundreds of horizontal lacquered boards, parallel sentences, and steles at pagodas, shrines, private homes and tombs in the province.

The exhibition space is divided into two parts: The outdoor space displays 83 frames with 240 photos introducing Han Nom heritage in 4 living spaces: communal houses, temples, pagodas, private homes and cemeteries.

The indoor space displays 56 photo frames with 118 documents about the royal decree and land register system; 50 original artifacts, 7 sets of restored artifacts and 20 Han Nom documents of various types.

This is the first time that Han Nom documentary heritage in Gia Lai province has been systematically surveyed, collected, classified and introduced in a large scale, spread across 17 districts, towns and cities. The exhibition is a key content of the provincial-level project "Preserving and promoting the value of Han Nom heritage in Gia Lai province" chaired by the Provincial Museum.

The exhibition will last until October 2025 at Gia Lai Provincial Museum. During this time, part of the exhibition will be held on tour in An Khe and Ayun Pa towns to serve local people who cannot visit Pleiku City.

At the opening ceremony, Mr. Le Thanh Tuan - Director of Gia Lai Provincial Museum said that the two exhibitions are practical activities to celebrate the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2025), towards the 114th anniversary of Uncle Ho's departure to find a way to save the country (June 5, 1911 - June 5, 2025); at the same time, celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-China diplomatic relations; thereby contributing to preserving and promoting the value of Han Nom heritage in the province.
