Communist Party of Vietnam - Cuba strengthen theoretical cooperation

According to the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics Portal, within the framework of the visit, the delegation attended the 6th Theoretical Workshop between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Communist Party of Cuba with the theme "The Communist Party plans and organizes the implementation of strategic decisions on socio-economic development in the direction of socialism".

Delegates attending the Workshop exchanged and discussed topics of current significance and importance to the revolutionary cause of each Party in the current period such as: Leadership and direction of socio-economic strategic decisions in the new development era; policies and decisions on the development of state, private and FDI economic sectors; leadership of youth work in the country's socio-economic development; experience in leading the fight against corruption, waste and negative trends in society; political and ideological work with youth...

The delegation also attended the 2nd International Scientific Conference “Fidel Castro - Ho Chi Minh: Revolutionary Vision” at the Communist Party of Cuba University Nico Lopez, on the occasion of the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh’s birthday. The conference attracted more than 400 delegates including teachers, students, researchers and representatives of 20 ministries and sectors.

At the Central Headquarters of the Communist Party of Cuba, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thang presented a policy speech with the theme "New Development Era - the Era of Rising of the Vietnamese People: Theoretical and Practical Issues", sharing experiences in innovation and national development under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

According to Nhan Dan Newspaper, speaking at the reception for the delegation on the afternoon of May 14, First Secretary and President of the Republic of Cuba Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez affirmed that the Vietnam-Cuba relationship is a model, built on the foundation of 65 years of loyalty and trust. The two sides agreed to attach importance to consolidating and expanding this special relationship, giving high priority to political cooperation and comprehensive development.

During the talks with Permanent Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba Secretariat Roberto Morales Ojeda, the two sides agreed to promote delegation exchanges at all levels and share experiences in leadership and management, especially in the preparation process for the Party Congress of each side in 2026. The two parties play a guiding role in promoting the effectiveness of bilateral cooperation programs and projects.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thang affirmed that Vietnam has always been consistent in supporting the revolutionary cause of the Cuban people, opposing the blockade and embargo and calling for Cuba to be removed from the list of countries considered to be sponsors of terrorism. The two sides also discussed solutions to remove difficulties and promote cooperation in agriculture, energy, pharmaceuticals, construction materials and consumer goods production - areas considered key to improving the effectiveness of economic cooperation between the two countries.

During their stay in Cuba, the delegation laid flowers at the Ho Chi Minh Monument and the Jose Marti Monument, visited and worked with organizations, businesses, and cultural and ideological establishments in the capital city of Havana. The delegation also met and exchanged with embassy officials and representatives of the Vietnamese community in Cuba.
