This is an annual activity, maintained since 2015, to enhance cultural and educational exchange, promote the Korean language learning movement and strengthen the friendly relationship between Hai Phong people and the Korean community living and working in the city.
In his opening speech, Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs Tran Viet Tuan emphasized that over the past 30 years, the Vietnam-Korea relationship has continuously developed strongly, becoming one of the exemplary cooperation models in the East Asia region. In particular, since 2023, the two countries have upgraded their relationship to "Comprehensive Strategic Partnership", demonstrating the importance and deep level of trust in cooperation for mutual development.

For Hai Phong, Korea is currently the leading investor in terms of total capital and the third in terms of number of projects, with 315 projects and a total registered capital of over 15.34 billion USD. Korean enterprises not only actively contribute to the city's socio -economic growth but also proactively participate in many cultural, educational and people-to-people exchange activities, contributing to enhancing understanding and connection between the two countries.
Chairman of the Korean Association in Hai Phong, Mr. Jang Bog Hyun, shared: “This year, the contest enters its 11th year – as the Korean proverb says, ‘The mountains and rivers change in ten years’. In Hai Phong, more and more Vietnamese people are learning Korean, from elementary school students to working people. Korean is not only a language, but also a bridge connecting the cultures and hearts of the people of the two countries.”
In 2025, the contest attracted nearly 300 contestants from 30 units, including primary schools, secondary schools, high schools, colleges, universities and Korean enterprises in the city. After preliminary rounds and interviews, the 15 best contestants were selected for the final round, competing in three groups: Group A - Primary and secondary school students; Group B - High school students; Group C - Students and working people.
In the final round, the contestants took turns presenting on the following topics: Cultural, educational and economic friendship cooperation; the bridge connecting Vietnam and Korea; connecting friendship between the two countries' young generations towards the future and directly answering the judges' interview questions.
At the end of the contest, the Organizing Committee awarded 3 first prizes, 3 second prizes, 3 third prizes and 6 consolation prizes to contestants with excellent performances.
