The Korean Football Federation sued the person who spread false information about coach Park Hang Seo.

(Dan Tri) - The Korea Football Association (KFA) officially sued individuals who spread fake news related to coach Park Hang Seo and the country's national team.

Today (October 23), the Korea Football Association (KFA) filed a petition with the Seoul Central District Court, launching a campaign to "clean up" fake news related to South Korean football. According to the KFA, there has been a lot of misinformation recently circulating about coach Park Hang Seo leading the South Korean national team or about FIFA disciplining the KFA.

This fabricated information has caused the wave of criticism directed towards KFA President Chung Mong Gyu and head coach Hong Myung Bo to increase day by day.

“We cannot continue to ignore the deliberate distortion of the truth and the defamation of KFA members,” said Kim Yun Ju, head of the KFA’s legal department. “Our goal in filing the lawsuit is to regain the trust of fans and clean up the Korean football environment.”

According to South Korean media, many YouTube, TikTok, and X (formerly known as Twitter) channels frequently post sensational and untrue content to attract views. Most of these channels produce content using AI-generated voiceovers and manipulated images to create sensational news stories.

Despite repeated warnings from the KFA, this situation continues to worsen, especially during the third round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

Coach Park Hang Seo currently holds the position of Vice President of the KFA, responsible for supporting the national team. Since leaving the Vietnamese national team, the South Korean coach has not yet taken on a coaching role with any other team.

Recently, Thai and Indonesian media have speculated that coach Park Hang Seo is a candidate to lead their national teams. However, while Thailand has appointed coach Anthony Hudson, Indonesia is reportedly looking to appoint a coach from Europe to work with its squad of naturalized players.
