The project is part of the global initiative Futuremakers by Standard Chartered, which aims to support disadvantaged youth – especially women and people with disabilities – to learn a trade, develop skills and access sustainable employment opportunities.

In Vietnam, the project is being implemented by Plan International Vietnam in collaboration with Hanoi Industrial Vocational College (HNIVC) and Bac Thang Long Economic and Technical College (BTL) in the period 2025-2027, aiming at 2,000 disadvantaged youths (of whom 70% are female and 5% are disabled) to participate in short-term vocational training courses and soft skills related to the needs of the labor market.

At the ceremony, Ms. Trinh Nhu Quynh - Director of External Relations, Marketing and Branding, Standard Chartered Bank Vietnam, said: "We are pleased to continue to accompany Plan International to implement the next phase of the project. 'Confidently starting a business' helps thousands of young people overcome barriers, get jobs and contribute positively to community development."

Tu Anh, a 12th grade student studying Tourism and Travel, was a student of the project in the previous phase. She shared: “Before joining the Confident Career Project, I was quite shy and had no clear direction for my future. Thanks to studying at HNIVC and participating in the project's soft skills class, I better understood the value of the tourism profession, learned how to communicate, work in groups and interview with much more confidence. After the course, I was connected with businesses and had the opportunity to work part-time in the culinary and tourism industry - studying and accumulating practical experience at the same time. What I cherish most is not just having a career, but also believing in myself - just like the name of the project 'Confident Career'".
