Promoting understanding and educational cooperation between Vietnam and Thailand

Vietnamese Consul General in Khon Kaen (Thailand) Dinh Hoang Linh recently had exchange activities with Asian Scholars University and Khon Kaen University, aiming to strengthen educational cooperation, student exchange and promote understanding of Vietnam, towards the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam - Thailand diplomatic relations (1976-2026).

According to information from the Vietnamese Consulate General in Khon Kaen, at the Asian Scholars University, Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh had a talk with nearly 100 lecturers and students on the topic "Trends in Vietnam - Thailand relations".

He said that Vietnam currently has open diplomatic relations with 192 member countries of the United Nations. In particular, the Vietnam-Thailand diplomatic relationship is increasingly developing, being upgraded to a comprehensive strategic partnership in May 2025. He welcomed the young generation of the two countries, including Thai students, who have been making many meaningful contributions to building the increasingly good and sustainable Vietnam-Thailand relationship.

Based on the exchange and communication between the Asian Scholars University and Da Nang city, Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh hopes that there will be more educational cooperation and student exchange activities between the two countries in the coming time, especially on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Thailand.

Representatives of the Asian Scholars University thanked the Vietnamese Consulate General in Khon Kaen and relevant Vietnamese agencies for coordinating and organizing many effective exchange and cooperation programs, contributing to enhancing understanding of the country and people of Vietnam and raising students' awareness of their responsibility to contribute to the friendly relations between the two peoples.

Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh expressed his strong support for the initiative to establish the Center for Vietnamese Studies of the Asian Scholars University. He affirmed that the Consulate General is ready to cooperate in providing learning materials, supporting the teaching of Vietnamese language and research on Vietnam. He especially appreciated the construction of an exhibition space to introduce President Ho Chi Minh here, demonstrating respect for the historical traditions and the noble cultural and spiritual values ​​of the Vietnamese people.

During the working trip, Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh worked with Associate Professor Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, President of Khon Kaen University, one of the largest, most prestigious and oldest universities in Thailand. He expressed his gratitude for the school's goodwill in cooperation, especially the signing of 20 cooperation agreements with Vietnamese universities and the awarding of more than 100 scholarships to Vietnamese students in recent times.

President Charnchai Panthongviriyakul said that strengthening educational cooperation and academic exchanges with Vietnam is one of the international cooperation priorities of Khon Kaen University. He highly appreciated the cooperation initiatives of the Vietnamese Consulate General in Khon Kaen, including the program "The Big Move in Vietnam" to help Thai students better understand the development potential and cooperation opportunities with Vietnam. He expressed his willingness to coordinate with the Consulate General to organize activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Thailand, including the establishment of a Center for Vietnamese Studies at the suggestion of the Consul General, to enhance understanding, cultural exchange and promote the friendship between the two peoples.
