Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hang welcomed Chilean Deputy Foreign Minister Gloria de la Fuente to Vietnam; emphasizing that the presence of the Chilean delegation in Vietnam demonstrates Chile's determination to commit to joining efforts with the international community to fight cybercrime and transnational crime, while contributing to promoting bilateral relations between the two countries.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hang affirmed that Vietnam always treasures the good traditional friendship established by the late President Salvador Allende and President Ho Chi Minh in 1969. Recalling the good memories on the occasion of accompanying President Luong Cuong to visit Chile in November 2024, Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hang affirmed the determination and efforts of the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs in consolidating and further strengthening the good friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries on the basis of the high-level agreements reached.

At the meeting, the two Deputy Ministers agreed on the need to continue to effectively, regularly and flexibly implement the Political Consultation mechanism at the Deputy Foreign Minister level and the Free Trade Council between the two countries to remove difficulties and obstacles, bringing the political-diplomatic, economic-trade and investment relations to match their potential.

Chilean Deputy Foreign Minister Gloria de la Fuente expressed her joy at visiting Vietnam for the first time; highly appreciated Vietnam's role in promoting initiatives on cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and digital transformation in the international arena in recent times and expressed her belief that the signing ceremony of the Hanoi Convention will be a great success; affirmed that Chile values ​​the position and role of Vietnam, and hoped that the Foreign Ministries of the two countries will cooperate closely, bringing the traditional friendship and comprehensive partnership between Vietnam and Chile to a new level.

Expressing their delight at the positive developments in bilateral relations, the two sides shared the need to increase delegation exchanges and contacts at all levels, especially at high levels in 2026 on the occasion of the two countries celebrating the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations (March 25, 1971 - March 25, 2026); continue to effectively, regularly and flexibly implement the Political Consultation mechanism at the Deputy Foreign Minister level and the Free Trade Council between the two countries to remove difficulties and obstacles to bring the political - diplomatic, economic - trade and investment relations to match their potential.

Sharing their views on the world situation, the two Deputy Ministers agreed to continue to take advantage of the CPTPP to strengthen economic, trade and investment relations; closely coordinate to open markets for agricultural products of Vietnam and Chile in accordance with the direction of the two countries' senior leaders. At the same time, the two sides agreed to strengthen cooperation in international organizations, promote the role of international law and multilateralism, for peace, stability, cooperation and prosperity in the two regions and in the world.
