Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Minh Hang received the Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar

On the afternoon of October 24, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Headquarters, Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Minh Hang received Ms. Maream Ali A-Misnad, Secretary of State for International Cooperation, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, on the occasion of her visit to Vietnam to attend the signing ceremony of the United Nations Convention against Cybercrime in Hanoi.

Welcoming Minister of State Maream Ali A-Misnad to Vietnam, Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hang affirmed that Vietnam highly appreciates Qatar's role and position in the region and the international arena, especially Qatar's positive contributions in mediation, promoting dialogue and humanitarian assistance.

In an atmosphere of friendship and mutual understanding, the two sides expressed their delight at the positive developments in bilateral relations in recent times; affirmed that Vietnam and Qatar always attach importance to and wish to further deepen the friendship and multifaceted cooperation between the two countries. The two sides agreed to promote the exchange of delegations at all levels, especially high-level ones; and strengthen coordination to develop the Vietnam-Qatar relationship more substantially, effectively and sustainably in the coming time.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hang suggested that the two sides continue to expand trade and investment cooperation in potential areas such as energy, food security, Halal industry, digital infrastructure, etc.; at the same time, he emphasized the significance of the Vietnam - Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Free Trade Agreement, hoping that Qatar would support and promote the negotiation process of this Agreement.

Minister of State Maream Ali A-Misnad expressed her deep impression of Vietnam's dynamic development achievements; affirming that Vietnam is an important partner of Qatar in the region. She highly appreciated the significance of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh 's visit to Qatar (October 2024), pledging to closely coordinate with Vietnam to effectively implement the results of the visit, expanding cooperation in areas of both sides' strengths and needs.

Minister of State Maream Ali A-Misnad affirmed that Qatar supports the early negotiation of the Vietnam-GCC Free Trade Agreement; encourages Qatari enterprises to explore investment and business opportunities in Vietnam and is ready to accompany Vietnam on the upcoming development path.
