After jointly attending the signing ceremony of the United Nations Convention against Cybercrime, UN Secretary-General António Guterres flew with Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính to attend the 47th ASEAN Summit and related summits in Malaysia.
The conferences, held from October 26-28, were the highlight of Malaysia's ASEAN Chairmanship in 2025, with the participation of leaders from ASEAN countries, Timor-Leste, leaders of partner countries, guests of the ASEAN Chairman 2025, and the Secretary-General of the United Nations.

As the coordinating country for ASEAN-New Zealand relations, Vietnam will cooperate with other countries to successfully organize the summit commemorating the 50th anniversary of relations (1975-2025), promote qualitative changes in relations, and upgrade ASEAN-New Zealand relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
The Prime Minister is expected to hold numerous bilateral meetings with ASEAN leaders, partner countries, and international organizations, through which he will exchange views and propose initiatives to promote cooperation and seek solutions to current challenges facing ASEAN and the region.
