Located on the Dong Trieu arc in Northern Vietnam, running through 3 provinces of Quang Ninh, Bac Giang , Hai Duong, the system of relics over 700 years old belonging to the Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son - Kiep Bac relics and scenic spots complex has special values in terms of religion, culture and history. This place is not only a symbol of patriotic tradition and national spirit but also the homeland of the Tran Dynasty, the origin of Truc Lam Zen sect, playing an important role in shaping the history of the Vietnamese nation.
Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Hanh affirmed that the Complex of Monuments and Landscapes of Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son, Kiep Bac represents the vitality of a long-standing, vibrant cultural heritage that continues to develop to this day, and has been submitted to UNESCO for consideration as a world heritage. Continuing the tradition of thousands of years, Quang Ninh province, together with Bac Giang and Hai Duong provinces, actively join hands to preserve and promote the values of cultural, historical, archaeological, biodiversity, geological heritage as well as the unique landscapes of the Complex of Monuments. Thereby, preserving and passing on heritage values to future generations, as well as promoting Vietnamese cultural heritage internationally.
The support of countries through the accompanying activities of ambassadors, representatives of international organizations, and diplomatic corps is of great significance on the journey to inscribe the Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son, Kiep Bac Complex of Monuments and Landscapes on the World Heritage List.
As part of the activities of “Learning about Vietnam Day 2025”, on May 16-17, ambassadors and representatives of international organizations visited clusters and relic sites of the Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son, Kiep Bac relic and scenic complex, experiencing the journey of “Living with heritage” at the special national relic of Yen Tu. The delegates also learned about the birth, spread and development of Truc Lam Buddhism - a Zen sect imbued with the cultural identity of the Vietnamese people, closely associated with the life of practicing Buddhism of the King, Buddha Emperor Tran Nhan Tong.
“Vietnam Learning Day” is an annual event organized by the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 2015, aiming to update the country's foreign policies and socio-economic achievements, while promoting Vietnamese culture to diplomatic corps and international organizations in Vietnam.
