On April 10, TKV and PVN signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement.
In that roadmap, one of the outstanding steps demonstrating TKV's determination is to promote comprehensive cooperation with domestic partners who play a strategic role in ensuring national energy security. Notably, on April 10, 2025, TKV and the Vietnam National Energy and Industry Group (PVN) signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement. The event not only opened a period of extensive strategic cooperation between the two national energy pillars, but also marked an important step to concretize the orientation of developing a sustainable, modern and efficient energy sector in accordance with the direction of the Party and Government .
The signing of the comprehensive cooperation agreement between TKV and PVN took place right after PVN was re-designated by the Government with a role expanding into industry - energy - services, instead of being limited to the traditional oil and gas sector. This is a symbolic event, reflecting the strategic vision in restructuring and improving the efficiency of linkages between state-owned economic groups.
Mr. Ngo Hoang Ngan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of TKV, emphasized: TKV and PVN are two pillars of the Vietnamese energy industry. The agreement between the two parties just signed demonstrates the determination to promote internal strengths and effectively coordinate in areas such as: Exploitation and processing of resources, energy supply, green technology conversion, innovation and training of high-quality human resources. The long-term goal is to actively contribute to the cause of ensuring national energy security, promoting energy transition and sustainable economic development. The close coordination between the two Groups, together with EVN, forms a triangle of strength in ensuring national energy security in the coming period.

TKV aims to become a strong economic group by 2030, operating in multiple sectors in the energy and mineral industries, associated with digital transformation, greening production activities and enhancing international competitiveness. To realize this vision, TKV identifies strategic cooperation with domestic and foreign partners as a key solution. Not only focusing on coal trade, TKV is expanding cooperation in many areas: Technology transfer, human resource training, equipment supply and exploitation of potential areas such as aluminum, rare earth, etc.
Not stopping at domestic cooperation, TKV is actively expanding international partnerships, especially with traditional markets such as Japan, Korea, China, Southeast Asian countries, etc. to maintain a stable and quality coal supply and to be responsible for sustainable development. In the process of modernizing production towards mechanization, automation and information technology, TKV is promoting technological cooperation with the world's leading partners. Since the beginning of 2025, the Group has signed many equipment and technology cooperation agreements with international enterprises.
Identifying high-quality human resources and technological innovation as core factors to create momentum for long-term growth, since the beginning of 2025, TKV has established many training cooperation programs and specialized technology transfer. Notably, in mid-May 2025, TKV signed a cooperation agreement with enterprises from Thai An city and Shandong district (China), focusing on supplying advanced mining equipment, supporting the modernization of mining lines, and improving efficiency and safety in production.
In February and March, TKV signed cooperation agreements with JOGMEC (Japan) and KC Group (Korea), opening up opportunities to access modern coal mining technology. At the same time, cooperation with the University of Mining and Geology for the period 2025-2030 will help improve endogenous capacity in training and research. International partners highly appreciate TKV's role in the regional energy supply chain, and at the same time express their desire to maintain long-term and deeper cooperation in the future.
Strengthening dialogue and building trustworthy relationships with international partners not only helps TKV ensure stable output for coal products but also contributes to affirming Vietnam's position as a major energy enterprise on the global energy map.
