The Cheo play “The Sacred Mark of Cua Suot” was directed by People's Artist Hoang Quynh Mai, written by Meritorious Artist Pham Ngoc Duong; with the participation of nearly 100 artists, actors, and musicians of the Quang Ninh Art Troupe.
The play exploits the legendary story of the Little Fairy Cua Suot, a fairy who, out of compassion for the suffering people in the lower world, decided to give up her comfortable life in the fairyland to come down to earth, reincarnated as the daughter of Lord Tran Quoc Tang, and together with her father, fought against the sea monsters and the Yuan-Mongol invaders to save the people and the country.

Using the traditional Cheo art language, along with the elaborate staging of the scene, sound, and light, the work exploited mythological elements, folk legends, customs, and practices, especially the story of the little girl Cua Suot who used her tears to transform the Fairy Well to save the villagers from thirst, thereby expressing the gratitude of the people and affirming the vitality of historical and cultural values.

At the rehearsal, the Art Council highly appreciated the ideological content, artistic quality of the Cheo play and the performance of the artists and actors. This will be the stage work of the Quang Ninh Art Troupe participating in the National Cheo Festival (taking place in Bac Ninh from October 20 to November 2, 2025). The troupe will perform on October 26.
