Participate in commenting on amending and supplementing decisions on compensation, support and resettlement

On the afternoon of October 22, Mr. Le Van Anh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired a meeting to listen to and comment on the draft amendment and supplement to Decision No. 40/2024/QD-UBND dated October 4, 2024 of the Provincial People's Committee on compensation, support and resettlement when the State recovers land in the area. Also attending were leaders of a number of relevant departments and branches; localities participated in the meeting online.

Accordingly, the draft proposes to supplement some contents on compensation and support for construction projects related to some contents such as power grid; regulations on decentralization to the People's Committees at the commune level to perform some tasks under the authority of the Provincial People's Committee; policies to support house rent for subjects who must be resettled in projects that are not urban areas; support money for households who find their own land for resettlement; regulations on arranging resettlement locations in areas other than the project locations that require site clearance; other support policies on land that is not eligible for compensation...

Participating in the meeting, representatives of a number of departments, branches and localities said that the revised and supplemented contents in the draft basically summarized all the opinions that the units had contributed in writing to the Department of Agriculture and Environment. The policy mechanisms on support levels in the draft have been specifically zoned for each commune, ward and special zone. At the same time, it was also suggested to change some phrases in the draft to suit the current 2-level local government model...

Concluding the meeting, Comrade Le Van Anh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, emphasized: The amendment and supplementation of a number of mechanisms and policies on compensation, support and resettlement when the State reclaims land is of great significance in removing difficulties in site clearance for ongoing socio -economic development projects. Based on the comments of departments, branches and localities at the meeting, he agreed on the main amendments and supplements set out in the draft.

He also requested that the Department of Agriculture and Environment receive comments and make a final review to complete the draft to ensure the procedures for drafting legal documents and report to the Provincial People's Committee before October 28.
