During the meeting, Mr. Ovchinnikov Alexander Ivanovich, Academician of the Russian Academy of Engineering (RIA) and Academician of the International Academy of Engineering (IEA), stated that after learning about the province's potential, strengths, and development orientation, he, along with Duga Vietnam Co., Ltd. and international investors, proposed to study and invest in new generation wind power technology using short-bladed enclosed turbines; technology for converting energy from lignite to petroleum; and also proposed dredging several maritime channels in Quang Ninh province.
Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Bui Van Khang highly appreciated the proposals of Mr. Ovchinnikov Alexander Ivanovich and the investors, and affirmed that these are all contents that the province is increasingly attracting to realize the goals of developing a green economy , energy conversion, and a circular economy.
This will also contribute to promoting the implementation of Resolution 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in the development of science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation in Quang Ninh province.
The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized that wind power is one of the renewable energy sectors that Quang Ninh province is focusing on attracting investment in during the 2025-2030 period. The conversion of energy from lignite to petroleum will help promote the development of a circular economy. In addition, dredging maritime channels such as the Chanh River channel, Cai Lan port, and Cam Pha port will bring dual benefits: facilitating maritime traffic and utilizing dredged materials for land reclamation projects and construction. Therefore, the province will actively support and create the best possible conditions for investors to conduct research and surveys, and to expedite the implementation of projects in Quang Ninh.
