Ministry of Health proposes recall of Hai Be Appetite Syrup nationwide

(Dan Tri) - On June 20, the Department of Food Safety (Ministry of Health) said that it has requested the Department of Health of provinces and cities to recall the health protection food Hai Be Delicious Syrup, after this product was identified as counterfeit.

Previously, Ninh Binh Provincial Police announced the results of the appraisal of the quality indicators of the health protection food Hai Be Delicious Syrup - a product announced by Hai Be Company Limited and responsible for the product quality.

Accordingly, the determination of substances including vitamin A, calcium, vitamin C (the main substances that create the product's effects) only reached less than 70% compared to the announcement. The Investigation Police Agency of Ninh Binh Province Police has initiated a case to investigate according to the provisions of Clause 1, Article 193 of the 2015 Penal Code.

According to the Food Safety Department, this agency has issued an official dispatch, requesting the Department of Health of provinces and cities; the Department of Food Safety of Ho Chi Minh City; the Food Safety Management Board of Da Nang City; and the Food Safety and Hygiene Sub-Departments of provinces and cities to recall all fake Hai Be Delicious Syrup health protection food products currently on the market.

In addition, it is necessary to coordinate with the Investigation Police Agency of Ninh Binh Provincial Police to handle and resolve according to the provisions of law.

According to the review, Hai Be Delicious Syrup has been granted a Certificate of Acceptance of Product Declaration Registration No. 1121/2024/DKSP by the Department of Food Safety on January 30, 2024.

The product was also granted Certificate of Advertising Content No. 1121/2024/XNQC-ATTP dated June 7, 2024 for Hai Be Company Limited (address in Thanh Tay village, Van Phu commune, Nho Quan district, Ninh Binh).
