According to a representative of the Drug Administration Department ( Ministry of Health ), the unit has received information reflecting on the large quantity of Western medicine labeled as products of a Central Pharmaceutical Company, illegally dumped on vacant land in Da Nang. This dumping is not in accordance with the regulations of the Ministry of Health on the management of the quality of drugs and pharmaceutical ingredients.

The Drug Administration has sent a document requesting the pharmaceutical company to report the incident and destroy the drugs in accordance with regulations.
Previously, on June 10, the authorities of Hoa Hiep Nam Ward (Lien Chieu District, Da Nang) received information from local residents about a large amount of Western medicine at a landfill in the ward.
The Western medicine includes many types of bottles, unlabeled, many types of blister packs, the label shows the use of preventing motion sickness, vestibular disorders, the expiration date on the packaging is August 2026.
Drug disposal must ensure safety.
The representative of the Department of Drug Administration added, The destruction of pharmaceuticals must ensure safety for humans, animals and the environment, and comply with environmental protection laws.
The head of the facility whose drugs are to be destroyed shall decide to establish a drug destruction council. The council shall consist of at least three members, one of whom must be a representative responsible for the technical aspects.
Drug disposal must ensure safety for people and animals and avoid environmental pollution according to regulations of law on environmental protection.

For drugs that require special control (drugs, addictive drug ingredients, psychotropic drugs...) it can only be done after receiving a written permission from the Ministry of Health (if imported drugs) or the health department where the facility is located.

In particular, radioactive drugs or packaging that has been in direct contact with radioactive drugs that are no longer in use must be preserved and temporarily stored before being destroyed in accordance with the provisions of the law on atomic energy.
