Ministry of Health requests review of announcement about contaminated ByHeart Whole Nutrition milk

On November 21, the Ministry of Health informed that it had sent a document requesting the health departments of provinces/cities; the Department of Food Safety of Ho Chi Minh City; and the Food Safety and Hygiene Sub-Departments of provinces and cities to review the registration of declarations and self-declarations for the formula milk product ByHeart Whole Nutrition Infant Formula produced by ByHeart Inc, USA.

Regarding this product, Mr. Chu Quoc Thinh - Acting Director of the Department of Food Safety (Ministry of Health ) said that the Department has sent a document to the health departments of provinces/cities about warning about the ByHeart Whole Nutrition Infant Formula milk product.

To ensure consumer health, the Food Safety Department requests that the Department of Health, the Department of Food Safety, and the Food Safety Sub-Departments of provinces and cities urgently review the registration of declarations and self-declarations for the ByHeart Whole Nutrition Infant Formula milk product manufactured by ByHeart Inc, USA.

The relevant unit needs to work with the company that announced the ByHeart Whole Nutrition Infant Formula product (if any), request the company to notify distributors and consumers to stop using the product and recall it according to the manufacturer's recommendations, report (quantity imported, quantity sold, quantity remaining) and propose measures to handle these product batches, and report the handling results to the Department before November 28, 2025.

The Food Safety Department recommends that consumers do not let children use the above-mentioned warning product batches. If you discover a warning product on the market, please notify the local authorities immediately.

On November 19, the International Food Safety Authority (INFOSAN) announced an ongoing case of infant botulism in the United States related to the consumption of contaminated ByHeart Whole Nutrition Infant Formula.

As of November 17, 2025, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has reported 23 suspected and confirmed cases across 13 states, all of whom have required hospitalization.

Parents and caregivers in the United States are advised to immediately stop using any ByHeart Whole Nutrition Infant Formula products, including all lot numbers, all can sizes, and single-serve packages.

Currently, ByHeart Inc, USA (manufacturer) is voluntarily recalling all batches of ByHeart Whole Nutrition Infant Formula on the market./.
