Samsung Vietnam Complex commits to providing electronic equipment, labs... at Duy Tan University

This is a training and teaching cooperation plan of the Samsung Innovation Campus (SIC) technology talent development project between Samsung and Duy Tan University, to be specified in the memorandum of understanding that Duy Tan University has just signed with Samsung Vietnam Complex, Samsung Vina Electronics Company, affirming the companionship between the parties in implementing the SIC project 2022-2023. This activity is within the framework of the cooperation program between Samsung and universities implementing the high-tech capacity development program for the young generation of Vietnam. Up to now, the program has attracted about 6,000 lecturers and students nationwide to participate. SIC is a global IT and communicationseducation program for young people implemented in Vietnam since 2019, designed on an educational platform that combines core technology skills in the future with soft skills and practical working skills.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mr. Le Trung Chinh, Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City, said that Da Nang City has given strong directions on enhancing the application of IT, reviewing and simplifying administrative procedures, identifying private investment and foreign direct investment as important driving forces. "Currently, Da Nang City is focusing on calling for investment in a number of key projects, so the locality welcomes and welcomes Samsung Group to Da Nang City. I believe that this project will bring many learning opportunities and improve the capacity of technology application for students at Duy Tan University, contributing to providing high-quality human resources for the city," Mr. Chinh expected.

Mr. Choi Joo Ho, General Director of Samsung Vietnam, said that in the era of the 4.0 Industrial Revolution, the focus on "super connectivity", "super skills", the ability to apply information systems and digital technology will become extremely necessary for the future owners of the country. "Expanding the scale of the SIC program to many universities across Vietnam is one of Samsung's efforts to contribute to nurturing talent and increasing Vietnam's competitiveness. Samsung will always accompany the young people of the Central region, realizing the dreams that you are cherishing", said Mr. Choi Joo Ho.

Dr. Le Nguyen Bao, President of Duy Tan University, recognized that many great opportunities have opened up from the initial cooperation program signed by SIC. "But further, there may be other areas from AI, IoT, Big Data or other areas that we aspire to such as chip development, applications or programs that Vietnam is focusing on developing," Mr. Bao expressed.

On May 24, Samsung Vietnam, Samsung Vina Electronics and Vietnam Youth Success Organization jointly launched the Solve for Tomorrow 2023 competition in the Central region for middle and high school students. The competition includes 2 groups, 3 rounds, with a total prize value of 8 billion VND; the school with the first prize winning team will be sponsored a functional classroom worth more than 1 billion VND. The competition aims to encourage students to proactively research and apply STEM education to solve local problems. The teams in the top 40 will be guided by Samsung's team of senior professional advisors.
