Training on artificial intelligence applications in multimedia journalism

During 2 days (December 28-29), the Center for Journalism Training in collaboration with the Provincial Journalists Association organized a training course on the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in multimedia journalism. Nearly 40 trainees, editors and reporters of Quang Tri Newspaper, Quang Tri Radio and Television Station, Cua Viet Magazine, Quang Tri Provincial Electronic Information Portal, Provincial Police, Department of Information and Communications participated in the training course.

Speaking at the opening of the training course, Permanent Vice President of the Provincial Journalists Association Hoang Ngoc Sy affirmed that artificial intelligence is not only a trend, but also a useful tool to help journalists improve their work efficiency and create content suitable for readers in the digital age. Through the training course, the capacity to use modern AI tools for the journalism team is enhanced in the context of strong digital transformation.

Within the framework of the training course, the trainees were shared basic knowledge about AI by Dr. Luong Dong Son, lecturer of the Institute of Journalism and Communication, Academy of Journalism and Propaganda; introduced and guided on how to use tools such as Gemini, ChatGPT, Canva, Capcut... in the process of multimedia journalism.

Applying AI in information processing, writing news articles, editing videos , optimizing content on digital platforms and exploiting big data in journalism. At the same time, together analyze and discuss the challenges in applying AI to multimedia journalism.

This is a practical professional activity, helping reporters and editors keep up with modern technology trends. Good use of AI tools will help save time searching for information, generate creative ideas and produce more diverse and attractive journalistic works.
