Like every year, summer is the season of showing attractive movies of all genres: horror, action, psychological - emotional, and especially indispensable are animated movies for children.
The famous Japanese animated film Doraemon: Nobita and the Adventures of the Picture World (released on May 23) is dominating the Vietnamese box office, ranking first, earning over 142 billion VND. Released at the end of May, the action film Mission: Impossible - The Last Karma starring Tom Cruise, with a budget of up to 400 million USD, has currently earned a global revenue of 450 million USD, of which 36.7 billion VND is earned in Vietnam alone.
The anticipated blockbuster of June is How to Train Your Dragon , directed by Dean DeBlois, the creator of the hit animated series of the same name. The film, which will premiere on June 13, revolves around Hiccup (played by Mason Thames), who lives on the island of Berk and takes part in a dragon training course with his peers.
On the same day, June 13, the Vietnamese box office welcomed the Super 5 , marking the return of Korean actor Yoo Ah-in. The film follows 5 ordinary people who suddenly "win the lottery" and unexpectedly possess superpowers after a strange organ transplant.

Actor Brad Pitt returns to the big screen in the movie F1 , released on June 27, set in the world's most famous racing tournament, Formula 1. Crafted by Joseph Kosinski and the team behind Maverick , the film has received a storm of praise from critics and promises to be a box office hit.
Also released on June 27 is the horror film Megan 2.0 by director Gerard Johnstone, set 2 years after the events of part 1 when Gemma (played by Allison Williams) discovers that the technology to produce Megan has been stolen.
Three other blockbusters will be released in July : Jurassic World: Rebirth (July 4), Superman (July 11) and Fantastic Four: First Step (July 25).
The above-mentioned foreign films have created considerable pressure on Vietnamese films. This summer, many Vietnamese films are available in theaters. The horror genre includes Nam Muoi (opening May 30), Dau Day Ho (June 6), Ut Lan - Oan Linh Giu Cua (June 20). The animation genre marks the appearance of two Vietnamese films: De Men: Cuoc Thuyeu Dau Xom Lay Loi (May 30) and Trang Quynh Nhi: Truyen Thua Kim Nguu (June 20). In addition, there are two psychological-emotional films: The Last Wish by director Doan Si Nguyen (July 4), Mang Me Di Bo - a Vietnamese-Korean cooperation film by director Mo Hong-jin (in theaters August 1).
