Schools have developed and put into use AI chatbot applications, online virtual assistants that can respond automatically and flexibly to each user context. Notably, chatbots can suggest majors that match their scores, helping candidates make their choices with a high chance of admission.

According to MSc. Nguyen Minh Tung, Head of Admissions and Student Affairs at Vietnam Aviation Academy, VAA-BOT is integrated with AI technology and natural language processing capabilities, allowing chatbots to understand diverse user questions, thereby providing appropriate answers in each context. All information about majors, admission methods, quotas, tuition fees, scholarships, dormitories, etc. are regularly updated by the system and responded immediately to the questioner.
Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry has also deployed an AI chatbot system for admissions consulting that operates 24/7, providing quick and accurate information about benchmark scores for each year, admission combinations, admission methods and career opportunities.
According to Dr. Nguyen Trung Nhan, head of the training department of Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry, this system was researched and developed by students and lecturers, helping to reduce the workload for the consulting department and improve user experience on the digital platform.
"Not only providing information, chatbots also support candidates in choosing the right major to register for the admission subject group. Thanks to rich data sources and quick analysis capabilities, the system helps you broaden your perspective and have more reference options for majors that suit your abilities and personal orientation," said Mr. Nhan.
Cross-platform, deep data integration
HUTECH AI Chatbot of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology launched in early April 2025 with tens of thousands of visits per month. The usage of this AI chatbot is similar to other popular AI chatbots such as ChatGPT, Gemini... completely free without the need to register/login to an account.
According to Dr. Nguyen Quoc Anh - Vice Principal of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, the school's AI chatbot is a tool that allows users to easily look up information about suitable career orientation; admission methods; time and method of application; tuition and scholarship policies; training programs, learning environment, career potential of more than 60 majors...
"This chatbot is built on the Multi Agent platform, the response content is updated and communication situations are established continuously, so the content provided is quite smooth, "has a good memory" because it can remember many situations. The chatbot is displayed directly on the school's main website, has an independent interface, the management system can extract, track, record the questioner's problem, identify the questioner to provide in-depth support when needed", Mr. Anh shared.
AI Chatbot - the virtual admissions assistant of Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade - integrates large language models (LLMs) with modern information retrieval technology (RAG), operating uninterruptedly 24/7 on popular platforms such as Zalo, Facebook Messenger.

Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics has also launched the virtual assistant UEH AI Chatbot, an AI application solution that helps automate the admissions consulting process, supporting parents and students to answer all questions related to careers and the learning process at school 24/7.
MSc. Le Thi Hanh An - Deputy Head of UEH's Communications and Partner Development Department - shared: "UEH AI Chatbot operates based on pre-built and pre-set question-and-answer scenarios, aiming to provide quick and accurate information to learners.
However, in cases where the feedback content does not match the specific needs, the system will automatically forward the user to UEH's learner care ecosystem or connect directly with the operator to ensure that all questions are answered promptly, fully and accurately."

Nguyen Thi Tu Uyen, a student at Nguyen Khuyen High School, Ho Chi Minh City, said: "I often research and look up admission information at night, so it is difficult to contact teachers or fanpages for advice and immediate answers. Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education has also operated an AI-integrated virtual assistant system - HCMUTE Chat AI - researched and developed by students and alumni. The tool is capable of accurately responding to questions about enrollment information, training majors, study programs... flexibly and continuously 24/7.
In particular, this tool integrates a VR 360 virtual tour platform, connecting video and image systems and a consulting switchboard, creating a comprehensive experience for students and parents when looking for admission information.
