On October 14, Mr. Lai The Nam, Principal of Ha Huy Tap High School, Tam Ky Ward, Da Nang City, said that he has synchronously applied a student attendance system using electronic facial recognition devices (Face ID).
According to Mr. Nam, taking attendance using Face ID saves time and effort compared to the traditional method, and also helps parents monitor their children's school attendance.

Students only need to scan their faces, the system will immediately record. If students are late or absent, the system will automatically update and send notifications to parents' phones.
“For example, school starts at 1:30 p.m. If at 1:31 a student has not checked in, the system will notify them that they are late. After 15 minutes, if the student has not entered the class, they will report their absence and immediately notify the parents to check if their child has had any problems on the way to school,” Mr. Nam emphasized.
Mr. Nam said that attendance data will be saved in the system so that the school can clearly know the number of students attending school and homeroom teachers can closely monitor the learning situation of each student.

The principal of Ha Huy Tap High School also said that the Face ID system was piloted by the school from April 2024 and this year it was officially deployed synchronously for the entire school, with 4 machines serving more than 600 students in 3 grades.
The roll call is quick, it only takes about 1 second for students to scan and the system is fully automated so students will not be able to cheat on the roll call. Thanks to the application of new technology, the situation of students being late is almost eliminated.
Mr. Nam also affirmed that students do not have to pay any fees for the implementation of this system; the entire investment is made by the school to promote digital transformation in student management.
