BYD Atto 3 facelift 2026 revealed - modern, more powerful and faster charging

The 2026 BYD Atto 3 facelift electric crossover will be equipped with a more powerful engine with a capacity of up to 308 horsepower, taken from the BYD Seal electric sports car.

According to Car News China, the new Atto 3 will also use an 800-volt electrical architecture, supporting DC fast charging up to 150 kW, nearly double the current version's 88 kW charging capacity. In addition to the performance upgrade, the 2026 Atto 3 also has a significant weight increase - 1,880 kg, compared to the previous 1,625 kg.

The overall dimensions of the car remain unchanged, maintaining a length of 4,455 mm, a width of 1,875 mm, a height of 1,615 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,720 mm. According to analysts, the weight increase may come from equipping a larger battery pack, although the specific battery capacity has not yet been announced.

The car will use batteries supplied by FinDreams, the same type of motor that has been equipped on BYD's higher-end electric models such as the Seal and Denza N7. The application of 800V electrical architecture not only improves performance but also significantly shortens charging time, enhancing the user experience.

In terms of design, the facelift version of Atto 3 has a more modern style, inspired by its "younger brother" Atto 2 (also known as Yuan Up in China).

Noticeable changes include a redesigned front end with sharp, angular lines, downward-facing central air vents, and front and rear bumpers with matching shapes.

The new BYD Atto 3 2026 taillights feature a similar wavy design to the Atto 2 and Dolphin, while the upper spoiler is equipped with two auxiliary brake lights in the style of the iconic “pause”.

The alloy wheel cluster has also been redesigned with a more closed shape, helping to improve aerodynamics. The front camera has been moved higher on the front bumper to optimize visibility.
