Weekend Coffee:

Summer 2025 has arrived in a flash, a time for rest, entertainment, and useful life skills training for children across the country after a stressful school year.

Family trips away from home; fun days expressing your abilities through age-appropriate activities that “learn while playing”… are just around the corner.

In that context, the annual World Children's Day event organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, which opened on the evening of May 29 in Ninh Binh, has important significance.

The event not only includes many interesting activities for the children's world , but more importantly, it contributes to awakening in children the ability to be creative, to feel what is needed in a useful citizen, socially responsible and with appropriate life skills, a healthy lifestyle in a changing world...

With a practical guidance based on a high sense of responsibility towards the country's young generation, children can learn many skills through artistic activities, from circus - variety shows, photo exhibitions, puppetry, book introductions, practicing making traditional ceramic products, folk painting, to understanding the meaning of familiar objects made from recycled materials...

However, not all children have the opportunity to access such large-scale activities, especially children in remote areas, highlands, border areas, islands... Therefore, what is equally necessary, and more practical, is the attention given to children in difficult areas in particular, and rural areas across the country in general.

In fact, practically, like the way a few days ago, in a suburban district of Hanoi, just a group of art students could help children here discover their drawing ability, experience the feeling of their first work being exhibited in the program "First stroke". That is a type of activity that partly has the meaning of opening up, awakening children's ability and love for art.

In addition to the major events, the silent contributions of individuals and groups involved in cultural and artistic activities with socialized funding or government sponsorship have helped many children have fun and meaningful summer days. That spirit and that resource need to be nurtured and grown stronger in the community.
