Family trips away from home; days of fun and freedom to showcase one's abilities through age-appropriate activities that emphasize "learning through play"... all lie ahead.
In this context, the annual World Children's Day event, organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and opening on the evening of May 29th in Ninh Binh, holds significant importance.
The event not only includes many fun activities for children but, more importantly, contributes to fostering creativity in children, instilling in them the qualities needed to be useful and socially responsible citizens, and equipping them with appropriate life skills and a healthy lifestyle in a rapidly changing world.
With genuine guidance and a high sense of responsibility towards the nation's young generation, children can learn many skills through artistic activities, from circus and variety shows, photo exhibitions, puppetry, book presentations, practicing traditional pottery making, folk painting, to understanding the meaning of familiar objects made from recycled materials...
However, not all children have the opportunity to access such large-scale activities, especially children in remote areas, mountainous regions, border areas, and islands. Therefore, what is equally important, and even more practical, is to pay attention to children in disadvantaged areas in particular, and rural areas throughout the country in general.
In essence, and in a practical way, just like a few days ago, in a suburban district of Hanoi, a group of art students were able to help children there discover their painting abilities and experience the feeling of having their first artwork exhibited in the "First Strokes" program. This type of activity is meant to awaken and develop children's artistic abilities and love for art.
Besides major events, the quiet contributions of individuals and groups involved in cultural and artistic activities, with funding from social contributions or government sponsorships, have helped many children have fun and meaningful summers. This spirit and these resources need to be nurtured and strengthened within the community.
