Along with accelerating the completion of production and business tasks, at this time, thermal power plants in the province are actively preparing materials, fuel, machinery, and carrying out overhaul and repair of equipment to ensure power supply for 2025, especially during the peak dry season.
Uong Bi Thermal Power Company currently has two units of 330 MW and 300 MW using traditional condensing thermal power technology, producing about 15,000 kWh of electricity per day. Along with maintaining stable production of the 330MW unit, to ensure production and continuous power supply for the dry season of 2025 and the following years, the work of consolidating equipment at the end of this year is extremely important for the plant. Therefore, from the beginning of the fourth quarter, the Company has proactively carried out major repairs of the 300MW unit in combination with upgrading the distributed control system. Currently, the repair of the unit has been basically completed, connected to the systems, tested to ensure quality, progress of putting it into safe, stable and efficient operation. The company also properly implements the plan for regular repairs, periodic maintenance and reinforcement of equipment such as: Electrostatic dust collection system, desulfurization system, fly ash recovery system, slag disposal system to ensure environmental protection. At the same time, periodically change equipment with a frequency of 15 days/time to check the redundancy.
Along with that, the Company has prepared enough fuel for production, materials, and emergency spare equipment. At the same time, urgently review and develop a plan to purchase raw materials, materials, and equipment and deploy the selection of contractors to effectively implement the 2025 plan, contributing to stable electricity supply, meeting the national load demand.
Mr. Do Trung Kien, Director of Uong Bi Thermal Power Company, said: In order to operate production safely, effectively and stably in 2025, especially in the dry season, along with repairing and overhauling equipment, the Company has proactively developed plans and worked with TKV to ensure adequate supply of coal. At the same time, it has developed a plan to proactively work with TKV to provide additional coal for peak months. At production locations, the Company requires staff and workers to regularly check and review to detect as early as possible any defects that may affect the power generation capacity, safety of the generator set, and equipment operation.
Quang Ninh Thermal Power Joint Stock Company has 4 units with a total capacity of 1,200 MW connected to the national power system through the Quang Ninh 500kV transformer station with voltage levels of 500kV and 220kV, with an average designed output of 7.2 billion kWh/year.
Therefore, the preparation work for stability, continuity and efficiency for 2025, especially the dry season of 2025, has been proactively deployed early. Accordingly, the preparation of materials, replacement equipment, repair and maintenance plans for equipment and generators has been developed, issued and prepared by the Company since August 2024. On that basis, the Company's staff, workers, laborers and experts have proactively deployed plans to repair, maintain and repair generators. Thereby, generators No. 1, 2, 4 have been promptly repaired and periodically maintained by the Company to ensure that generators are highly reliable, have the longest operating time, and best meet the requirements for power supply operations in the dry season of 2025. For generator No. 3, the Company is undergoing major overhaul and repair, expected to be completed in December 2024.
Currently, the Company has developed plans for power generation during the dry season, increased equipment monitoring and inspection to promptly prevent equipment risks, and closely coordinated with the National Power System and Electricity Market Operation Company Limited to strictly implement dispatching and production management orders and electricity market regulations.
The proactive, active preparation of production plans by units from the last month of 2024 will contribute to ensuring electricity supply in 2025, preventing imbalances in electricity supply and demand in all situations, optimizing electricity purchase costs for the entire system and ensuring harmony of interests between the state, businesses and users.
