Countries express condolences over the passing of former President Tran Duc Luong

General Secretary and President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping; President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin; First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, President of the Republic of Cuba Miguel Díaz Canel-Bermúdez; Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, President, National Assembly, Government and Central Committee of the Lao Front for National and People's Construction; King of Cambodia Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath Norodom Sihamoni, President of the Senate of Cambodia Samdech Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of Cambodia Samdech Hun Manet; Acting President, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister ofEducation of the Republic of Korea Lee Joo Ho sent telegrams/letters/messages of condolence.

On May 23 (local time), Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro expressed his deepest condolences to the State, Government and people of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam after hearing the news of the passing of former President Tran Duc Luong.

On the afternoon of May 23 (local time), the Vietnamese Embassy in Germany solemnly held a memorial service and opened a condolence book in memory of former President Tran Duc Luong. Immediately after the memorial service began, representatives of the diplomatic corps, the ambassadors of Cambodia, the Philippines and Myanmar in Germany, representatives of the German-Vietnamese Association and many Vietnamese associations came to burn incense in memory of former President Tran Duc Luong and signed the condolence book.

On the morning of May 24, the Vietnamese Embassy in Korea solemnly held a memorial service and opened a condolence book in memory of former President Tran Duc Luong.
