- From July 1, 2025, out of a total of 65 new communes and wards, Lang Son province has 3 communes and wards merging 5 commune-level administrative units (CUs) in their original state; 8 communes and wards merging 4 commune-level administrative units and part of the area and population of other communes in their original state; the remaining 2 or 3 commune-level administrative units will be merged.
