The number of establishments producing and trading agricultural supplies is growing rapidly in Lam Dong province.
From 2016 to the present, the Department of Agriculture and Environment has organized four conferences on managing the production and trading of plant varieties, fertilizers, and pesticides, and strengthening the enforcement of decrees on administrative penalties for violations in the fields of crop cultivation and plant quarantine in the area.
In addition, two training courses on agricultural supplies management were organized for 45 specialized officials; 162 training courses on new legal documents were held for 17,671 agricultural supplies business owners; 83 training courses on fertilizers and pesticides were held with 7,334 participants; and two training courses on safety in pesticide transportation were held with 63 participants.
Simultaneously, through coordinated annual specialized inspections, departments, localities, and relevant units in the province proactively implement decrees on administrative penalties for violations in the fields of crop cultivation, plant protection, and plant quarantine, promptly handling violations of the law.
This will raise awareness among organizations and individuals regarding compliance with legal regulations on the production and trading of agricultural supplies, and encourage them to commit to not producing or trading substandard or counterfeit plant seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides that could damage the brand reputation of Lam Dong province's agricultural products.
In conjunction with propaganda work and inspection and monitoring, from 2016 to 2025, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Lam Dong province organized 4 inspection teams to examine the enforcement of laws in the fields of crop cultivation, plant protection, and plant quarantine in the area. Prior to this, the local authorities at both levels inspected and issued 779 decisions imposing fines totaling over 4.2 billion VND on 779 organizations and individuals for violations in this field.
Significantly, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Lam Dong province has transferred 3 cases to the investigative agency for criminal prosecution regarding the production and trading of counterfeit and substandard fertilizers. Common violations detected and handled include: temporary revocation of certificates of eligibility for production, import, trading, and testing of fertilizers; and forced recall and destruction of fertilizers, pesticides, and plant seeds that violate production and trading regulations.
According to the Lam Dong Department of Agriculture and Environment, the enforcement of decrees on administrative penalties for violations in the fields of crop cultivation, plant protection, and plant quarantine in Lam Dong province from 2016 to the present has been strengthened through coordinated efforts by departments, agencies, and local authorities in disseminating information and conducting inspections to detect and promptly handle violations, contributing to protecting the rights of producers and businesses and the interests of farmers.
