The project to build the new Nam Dinh - Lac Quan - coastal road has a total length of 24.66km. The total investment is about 6,400 billion VND.

The project is designed on the scale of a grade I plain road, with 8 lanes, a roadbed width of 39m, and a maximum speed of 100km/h.

The entire route is constructed in 3 packages, of which package 1 from the beginning of the route to Lac Quan bridge is about 15.74km long; package 2 from Lac Quan bridge to Km19+00 is about 3.26km long and package 3 from Km19+00 to the end of the route (intersection with the coastal road) is about 5.66km long.

In the photo is the starting point of the route connecting directly to the southern axis of Nam Dinh city (old), currently in Hong Quang ward.

On many routes, lighting systems, trees, and traffic signs have been completed.

Lac Quan Bridge is one of the three major bridge projects on the Nam Dinh - Lac Quan - coastal road route. Lac Quan Bridge retains the old bridge, builds an additional unit with a length of 508.8m, width of 17m, including 13 spans, 3 continuous spans, the remaining approach spans use prestressed reinforced concrete Super T girder structure.

So River Bridge in Giao Ninh Commune is also a large bridge in the project. The bridge consists of 2 units, each unit is 17m wide, 539m long, designed with 4 lanes.

Currently, workers are constructing beams and other items above the So River bridge.

At Km19+800 in Xuan Truong commune, workers are paving asphalt concrete.

The construction unit is concentrating machinery and human resources to soon complete the project.

The end point of the route connects with the coastal road construction project through Ninh Binh province at the intersection with National Highway 37B, Giao Ninh commune. At this point, workers are completing the road markings.

A representative of the Nam Dinh Construction Investment Project Management Board (Ninh Binh province) said that up to now, packages 1 and 2 have been basically completed, and are constructing auxiliary items such as road markings, traffic safety systems, etc.; Package 3 has reached about 90% of the volume.

The entire route currently maintains about 80-100 workers, of which at Cong So bridge alone there are more than 30 workers working regularly to speed up progress. The project is expected to be completed in November 2025.

The new Nam Dinh - Lac Quan - coastal road when put into operation will reduce the load on the currently very narrow National Highway 21, creating convenience for people's travel, overcoming the disadvantages and limitations of technical infrastructure to attract investment, opening up opportunities for socio -economic development for coastal districts of the province.
