Overseas Vietnamese goalkeeper Filip Nguyen will play for Hanoi Police Club in the second phase of V-League 2023 under a three-year contract.
Filip Nguyen joined CAHN on a free transfer. His contract with the team leading the V-League 2023 is for three years, with an option to extend. Filip Nguyen said he is ready to stay with CAHN for the rest of his playing career.
Filip Nguyen will be in Hanoi on June 29 to sign the contract. In addition to the signing bonus and salary, the 1992-born goalkeeper will also be hired by the club to teach Vietnamese. Filip Nguyen's wife and children will also return to Vietnam to live.
Filip Nguyen will be registered as an overseas Vietnamese player in the second phase of V-League 2023, when CAHN and seven other teams compete for the championship.

By wearing the CAHN shirt, Filip Nguyen will have another chance to complete the procedure to apply for Vietnamese citizenship. Previously, he tried to do this to be able to wear the Vietnamese national team shirt. However, because he plays for Czech clubs, Filip Nguyen cannot have enough time to live in Vietnam to meet the conditions to apply for citizenship. Filip Nguyen was once called up to the Czech national team, but because he has not played yet, this goalkeeper still has the opportunity to switch to the Vietnamese national team shirt.
Filip Nguyen was born in 1992 to a Vietnamese father and a Czech mother. He grew up in the Sparta Prague youth academy, playing for the club's first team before moving to Bydzov, Vlasim, Slova Liberec and Slovacko. Filip Nguyen was voted the best goalkeeper of the Czech National Championship in the 2018-2019 season by the Czech Professional Football League Association.

Binh Dinh had planned to recruit Filip Nguyen before V-League 2022, but failed because this goalkeeper did not have Vietnamese nationality, meaning the team would lose a spot for a foreign player. The Quy Nhon team then recruited Dang Van Lam in the middle of the season.
Vietnam's professional football regulations will change from the 2023 season. In the V-League, each team is allowed to use one overseas Vietnamese player without having to have nationality.
CAHN currently has one overseas Vietnamese player, goalkeeper Patrik Le Giang. He will likely play for another team on loan when Filip Nguyen appears.
Mr. Nguyen Minh, Filip's father, once shared that staying in Europe was better for his son's career, but he always wanted to return to Vietnam to play for his fatherland.
