The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has just ranked four constructions of special significance as city-level architectural and artistic relics, including the headquarters of the District 1 People's Committee (47 Le Duan), the headquarters of the Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department (2 Ham Nghi), Ben Thanh Market and the temple of Saint Tran Hung Dao (36 Vo Thi Sau).
Ms. Mai Thi Hong Hoa, Vice Chairwoman of District 1 People’s Committee, said that these works are not only the pride of the district but also a precious heritage of the whole community. Being ranked as a relic is a recognition but also poses a great responsibility in preserving and promoting the value of the heritage.
The Temple of Saint Tran Hung Dao, built in 1932, is one of the sacred places of worship for people coming to Ho Chi Minh City. The main gate is designed majestically, with curved tiled roofs and dragon and phoenix decorations. On the gate stand out 4 large Chinese characters (phonetic transcription) "Hung Dao Dai Vuong"

In the corner of the yard is a bas-relief, above which is an excerpt from Tran Hung Dao's Proclamation to Soldiers. Proclamation to Soldiers was written at the end of the 13th century before the second resistance war against the Mongol invaders.
