In recent days, public opinion has been abuzz about a two-legged robot displayed at the National Achievement Exhibition "80 Years of Independence - Freedom - Happiness Journey" to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2 with the logo of Hanoi University of Science and Technology (Exhibition A80). Many opinions say that this is a Chinese-made robot but has the logo of Hanoi University of Science and Technology.

Specifically, a two-legged robot was displayed at the Ministry of Education and Training’s booth. On the robot’s back, the logo of Hanoi University of Science and Technology was pasted over, completely covering the logo and label of the foreign manufacturer. Some people said that pasting the logo like that would cause confusion about the origin of the product.

According to the explanation of Hanoi University of Science and Technology, the two-legged robot displayed at the exhibition has mechanical parts that were legally imported through a business affiliated with Hanoi University of Science and Technology and has been authorized by the manufacturer to be used for the purposes of development, training, research and exhibition in Vietnam.

On this robot, the research team led by lecturers from Hanoi University of Science and Technology has developed new control algorithms, achieving results such as: improving stability when moving on complex terrain, increasing the ability to adapt to changing heights, developing algorithms to help the robot climb curved stairs, and this is a new feature.

In training, the research team has built software and professional documents, allowing lecturers and students to directly program, integrate AI and control motion.

The purpose of bringing this robot to the exhibition is to demonstrate the features that lecturers at Hanoi University of Science and Technology programmed, as mentioned above.

In response to Thanh Nien Newspaper's question about why the logo of Hanoi University of Science and Technology had to be pasted over the manufacturer's information, a representative of Hanoi University of Science and Technology said that they would have a specific answer after re-examining the product display process at the exhibition.

According to Thanh Nien Newspaper, the two-legged robot displayed and introduced by Hanoi University of Science and Technology at the A80 exhibition is a product developed by the Precision Mechanical Engineering Research Joint Stock Company (RPMEC), Hanoi University of Science and Technology, based on the two-legged robot model TRON 1 of LimX Dynamics, a technology company based in Shenzhen, China. Dr. Nguyen Chi Hung, lecturer at the School of Mechanical Engineering, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, is the director of RPMEC.

RPMEC researched the dynamic equations of this robot and invested in purchasing the mechanical system from LimX, with technical support from LimX. The fact that Hanoi University of Science and Technology overlaid LimX's logo at the A80 exhibition led to the misunderstanding that the robot was 100% a product of Hanoi University of Science and Technology, which was not approved by RPMEC.
