Therefore, students from specialized schools who participate in the TSA thinking skills assessment exam organized by Hanoi University of Science and Technology will have an additional competitive advantage.
Hanoi University of Science and Technology will use three groups of admission methods for its 2026 university entrance exams: talent-based admission, admission based on TSA aptitude test scores, and admission based on 2026 high school graduation exam scores.
Specifically, the talent-based admissions group has three methods: direct admission for excellent students according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training; admission based on international certificates; and admission based on a combination of academic profile and interview.
Regarding the admission method based on competency profile combined with interview, this year, Hanoi University of Science and Technology added the TSA thinking score factor. The subjects that can submit application are specialized students (including math, physics, chemistry, biology, information technology, foreign languages) with TSA thinking assessment scores in 2025 or 2026.
The candidate's profile score (maximum 100 points) includes points for critical thinking, achievement, and bonus points. The critical thinking score is calculated using the formula TSA x 40/60 (maximum 40 points). The achievement score (maximum 50 points) is calculated based on the total points of all valid achievements the candidate has earned and declared in the system.
Bonus points (maximum 10 points) are awarded for other academic and scientific research achievements not included in the overall score; foreign language certificates; awards in culture, arts, physical education, and sports (awards in arts, sports, and culture); and commendations for social activities and community volunteer work that the candidate declares legitimately on the system.
Reportedly, the total enrollment target for Hanoi University of Science and Technology in 2026 is expected to be 9,880 students.
