Recently, a motorbike shop in District 5, Ho Chi Minh City introduced to Vietnamese customers the first batch of new Yamaha Tricity 155 2025 imported directly from Japan. Currently, the vehicle is still in the process of completing registration procedures and waiting for the date of sale to customers. The Yamaha Tricity 155 3-wheel scooter has a front wheel design called Leaning Multi Wheel (LMW) - an exclusive technology of Yamaha. This system allows the front wheel to tilt according to the driver's steering angle, creating superior traction and high stability when cornering.
With two forks positioned on each side of the front wheel, the Tricity's front suspension structure can adapt well to rough road surfaces, ensuring that one wheel maintains grip if the other wheel slips, thereby reducing the risk of losing control. Although the Yamaha Tricity 155 has three wheels, according to current regulations in Vietnam, the Yamaha Tricity 155 is not classified as a "three-wheeled vehicle" because the distance between the two front wheels is greater than 460 mm. Therefore, the Tricity 155 is still considered a regular two-wheeled motorbike legally. In terms of overall design, Tricity 155 has a strong, modern style with dimensions of length x width x height of 1,995 x 750 x 1,215 mm, a wheelbase of 1,410 mm and ground clearance of 165 mm. The saddle height is 770 mm, weight is 172 kg.
The vehicle's appearance impresses with a large front mask, headlights and taillights all using LED technology. The front wheel uses 90/80 tires with 14-inch rims, while the rear wheel uses 130/70 tires with 13-inch rims. Both wheels are equipped with a disc brake system combined with UBS (linked braking) and ABS (anti-lock braking) technology, which helps increase safety when braking suddenly or moving on slippery roads. The car also integrates a parking brake, a useful feature when stopping on a slope or when needing to park for a long time. The vehicle's electronic display supports smart connectivity via the Yamaha Motorcycle Connect (Y-Connect) application, allowing users to track calls, messages, maintenance schedules, trip logs and more right on their phones. In addition, the vehicle also has a front storage compartment with a 12V charging port and a 23.5-liter under-seat trunk, enough to hold a full-face helmet, with LED lighting inside.
Powering the Yamaha Tricity 155 is a 155cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder BlueCore engine that produces a maximum capacity of 15 PS at 8,000 rpm and a torque of 14 Nm at 6,500 rpm. This engine is similar to sport scooters such as the NVX 155 and Lexi 155. The starting price of the Yamaha Tricity 155 2025 in Japan is 566,500 yen (equivalent to about 103 million VND). However, the selling price in Vietnam has not been announced because the vehicle has not completed the registration and circulation licensing procedures.
