Need support solutions to improve industrial promotion efficiency

Thanks to the industrial promotion program, enterprises and rural industrial production facilities in the city are facilitated to expand production scale, invest in machinery, improve product quality, and enhance competitiveness in the market. However, the city and the industry and trade sector need to have more policies and support solutions to help enterprises access the program more effectively.

Many difficulties need to be resolved

According to Ms. Mai Thi Y Nhi, Director of My Phuong Food Company Limited (Hoa Son Commune, Hoa Vang District), the preferential and supportive policies of Da Nang City have brought about practical results such as helping to create a difference to bring quality products to the domestic and export markets; at the same time, also solving outstanding problems that affect the development of enterprises.

Participating in the industrial promotion program, the company received nearly 500 million VND in funding to invest in machinery and equipment; promote and introduce products at annual trade promotion events in the city, domestically and internationally. In 2023, the company's Top Coco baked coconut cake product was recognized as a potential 5-star OCOP product, a typical rural industrial product of Da Nang city and proposed to participate in regional voting. "More than 70% of the company's total revenue is based on the consumption of products serving tourists . With the current growth rate, we are oriented to expand the scale of production as well as the premises, so we really need the support and removal of difficulties from the city, the industry and trade sector and related units," Ms. Nhi shared.

Similarly, Ms. Nguyen Thi Dung, Director of Adeva Noni Natural Products Company Limited, said that she is facing difficulties in investing and expanding production area. In Da Nang, the production workshop area is limited, so the company focuses on producing natural cosmetics; food products are transferred to Quang Nam province for production. In order to meet strict medical standards in the cosmetics industry, it is necessary to expand the production area; on the other hand, the company is producing a line of herbal toothpaste products that have received very positive feedback and reviews from tourists. Due to the inability to fully invest in production machinery, some products lack uniformity in form, so the company is looking forward to approaching and receiving support from the city's industrial promotion program so that the products can be further improved and developed.

Mr. Ho Duc Tien, Director of Mayaca Coffee Company Limited (Hoa Minh Ward, Lien Chieu District), said that in 2023, the company is one of 9 enterprises and establishments receiving financial support to invest in machinery and equipment from the City's Industrial Promotion Program in the first phase of 2023 with a cost of nearly 180 million VND. This is an opportunity for the company to improve technology, develop products and enhance competitiveness in the market. Faced with practical difficulties, he hopes to receive other support from the industrial promotion program and also proposes to increase the level of support funding and invest in machinery to have the opportunity to access and benefit from the policy.

Meanwhile, Ms. Nguyen Thi My Lien, Director of Chau Thong Production - Trade and Service Company Limited (Tan Chinh Ward, Thanh Khe District) acknowledged that, in parallel with production support, promotion, communication and product introduction work needs to be promoted in many forms and platforms; especially online promotion on e-commerce platforms and social networking platforms. Therefore, the company really needs the support of the city, the industry and trade sector and localities in researching communication support solutions, taking advantage of the "tourist city" advantage to develop more effectively and sustainably.

Improve the effectiveness of industrial promotion programs

According to the Department of Industry and Trade, in the period of 2020-2023, implementing the national industrial promotion program, the department has completed the implementation of 3 projects with a total implementation cost of more than 6.3 billion VND, of which the national industrial promotion support fund is 1.25 billion VND. Due to the limitation of the support area and the orientation of the national industrial promotion program to encourage the development of group projects, pilot projects and requiring the participation of two or more units in the same production industry, the number of support projects in the area is limited.

Regarding local industrial promotion, the department has implemented industrial promotion activities and developed souvenir production in Da Nang city with a total budget of over 25 billion VND, including: supporting 26 projects to support the application of advanced machinery and equipment in industrial and handicraft production for 34 establishments; 2 pilot models to apply cleaner production in industry; 4 consulting projects to evaluate cleaner production in industry for 12 enterprises...

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy Mai, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, said that the city has issued many resolutions and policies to promote industry and support businesses; showing greater attention to manufacturing enterprises in Da Nang. OCOP products, typical rural industries, and products of enterprises in the industrial promotion program are mostly introduced and selected as gifts at many important events. In order for the industrial promotion program in 2024 and the coming years to achieve better results, the Department of Industry and Trade will continue to advise the People's Committee and the City People's Council to consider raising the support level corresponding to the regulations and national industrial promotion programs to provide more resources, attract businesses to participate such as: raising the support level for costs of building technical demonstration models, pilot models on applying cleaner production in industry for industrial production establishments, etc.

“Currently, the support contents in the industrial promotion program are very comprehensive. The Department will continue to research and fully and effectively implement support policies so that businesses can grasp information and benefit best; contributing to promoting the transformation of the rural industrial economic structure towards modern industry,” Ms. Mai informed.
