(CT) - To date, farmers in Can Tho City have harvested more than 288,220 hectares of the 2025-2026 winter-spring rice crop, equivalent to 92% of the total area. The estimated rice yield is 7.35 tons/ha, an increase of 0.5 tons/ha compared to the same period last year. The total harvested rice production is estimated at more than 2.11 million tons.

According to the Crop Production and Plant Protection Sub-Department of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Can Tho City, this year's winter-spring crop saw farmers in Can Tho City planting 312,615 hectares of rice, exceeding the plan by 7%. The main rice varieties grown by farmers include: Dai Thom 8 (41%), ST 25 (16%), ST 24 (2%), RVT (9%), OM varieties (25%), and other varieties (7%) of the total area.
