Can Tho welcomed about 256,400 visitors during the September 2 holiday.

(CTO) - According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Can Tho City, during the 4-day holiday (from August 30 to September 2), the city welcomed about 256,400 visitors, an increase of 7% over the same period in 2024.

The total number of guests staying is estimated at 92,820, an increase of 13% over the same period in 2024. The average room occupancy rate across the city is estimated at about 60%, with Ninh Kieu and Cai Khe wards alone estimated at about 70%. Total tourism revenue during the 4-day holiday is estimated at 318 billion VND, an increase of 19% over the same period in 2024.

During the recent September 2nd holiday, 22 tourism businesses registered to participate in the Tourism Stimulus Program. The participation focused on: preferential product packages, promotions, discounts on sightseeing tickets, service prices, and enhancing the experience for tourists. The discount level ranges from 15-24% for sightseeing and experience services.

To ensure a safe holiday, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the city previously issued a dispatch requesting the People's Committees of communes and wards in the area to strengthen state management of tourism business activities and tourism services in the area. At the same time, it requested tourism businesses, the Management Board of Ninh Kieu Tourist Wharf, An Binh Market Tourist Wharf to proactively develop plans to ensure security and safety for tourists at the unit; strengthen environmental sanitation, ensure food hygiene and safety; arrange warnings, rescue, fire prevention; detect, prevent and resolutely handle subjects who follow and cause trouble for tourists; publicize the hotline number. Thanks to that, during the 4-day holiday, the security and safety situation for tourists coming to Can Tho was ensured, no problems occurred.
