Can Tho starts construction of 324 social housing units in the fourth quarter of 2025

In the fourth quarter of 2025, Can Tho city will start construction of 324 social housing units, striving to complete and hand over in the second quarter of 2026, ensuring 100% completion of the target of 1,397 social housing units assigned by the Prime Minister in 2025.

To date, Can Tho City has completed 2,252 social housing units in the 2021-2024 period. In 2025, 7 projects will be implemented, of which 1,073 units are expected to be completed within the year, reaching 77% of the plan. The remaining 324 units will be urged to start construction in the fourth quarter. Can Tho City People's Committee assigned the Department of Construction to be the focal point, presiding over working with relevant departments and branches to completely remove difficulties for businesses, and at the same time requesting units to guide investors and people to access the Government's preferential credit package of 120,000 billion VND.

The Department of Construction coordinates with the State Bank of Vietnam, Can Tho branch, to guide investors and people in need to access this capital source in the most convenient way, especially when the new regulations have expanded the beneficiaries of social housing policies, including both rental and hire-purchase forms. For 2026, Can Tho is assigned a target of 2,897 units, including 324 units transferred from 2025. The city is highly determined to ensure social security, providing housing for workers and low-income people.
