Recently, Chu Lai Port received and stored nearly 500 tons of cassava chips from Hong Nga Saigon Company (a company specializing in the import and export of agricultural products). The port has arranged more than 3,000m2 of warehouse and storage equipment to ensure the quality of goods before exporting to the Chinese market.
This is a batch of cassava chips transported from many localities such as: Gia Lai (Central Highlands), Attapeu, Sekong, Pakse (Laos), Ratanakiri (Cambodia) via Laos, Cambodia - Nam Giang, Bo Y, Le Thanh border gates to Chu Lai port (Quang Nam). It is expected that on average, this enterprise will store and export more than 10,000 tons of cassava chips at the port each month.
Chu Lai Port owns a large warehouse system with a total area of nearly 200,000m2 , the cost of warehouse and yard services is about 20% lower than other enterprises. In addition, the productivity of loading and unloading items such as cassava chips, cassava starch, pellets, wood chips at the port has increased 3-4 times compared to before; the time to release many items has been shortened by 50%; the cost of lifting, loading and unloading is 5-40% lower than the average in the region. With increasingly upgraded service quality and competitive costs, Chu Lai Port has attracted many large enterprises such as: Sun Paper Savanakhet (Laos), VBS (Vietnam), Idemitsu Green Energy, Sumida (Japan), Xindadong (China) ... to choose to store and import and export goods through the port.
Promoting the exploitation of export goods from Laos and Cambodia contributes to creating the premise for Chu Lai port to become an international goods transit gateway in the Central region, promoting trade activities in the region.
